相変わらず体調が優れず。やっぱりここ３ヶ月ほど頑張り過ぎたかも。それにしてもメリルの四半期決算は酷いね。$7.9bnの損失ってどんなリスク管理してるんだか。やっぱりリテール証券はリテールに集中しとけば良かったんじゃないかって叩かれるのは必然だね。

今日はSimonと3時間近く話し込んでしまった。。シミュレーションの方法とかいろいろと説明して、その後は彼がM社で作っていたモデルの話をしたり。リサーチペーパーを大量にもらったので、これから読まないと。。せっかくここ1-2週間はゆっくりできると思ったのになぁ。。

さえない天気と秋の涼しさで若干風邪気味。いろいろと調べ物をした後、最近はまっているroast beef sandwichを頬張る。満足して午前中の続きを開始。Financial advisorのErinが転職すると聞いてショック。アナリストになるそう。いろいろ後で話を聞けたら面白そうだなー

Discussion - Partly Cloudy, 69F

ここ数ヶ月でようやく同僚とも議論ができるようになってきて楽しい。そんな中、先週はやたらとモデルについて議論することが多かった。やっぱり優秀な人達が回りにいると楽しいなー。

• Therese, Andy, Wendyとのミーティング。うーん実務担当者間でも意見はわりと分かれてるもんなんだなぁ。クレジットってやっぱり一筋縄ではいかないね。
• Domとクレジットモデルについて議論。でもあんまりcredit cycleのモデル自体については面白いコメントを得られず。しかしさすがにプログラム書くのは早いな。
• Danteとクレジットモデルについて議論。やっぱりDanteはよくわかってるね。こちらの主張の内容も十分に伝わったみたい。
• Eduardoの考え方はまた独特やね。どちらかというとマネジメント的な視点からのモデルについてのコメントが多い。とにかくbla bla blaみたいな性質がある筈だとか。
• Michaelと金利モデルについて議論。ちょっとそれは違うんじゃない？？
• Antoineと金利モデルについて議論。おいおいそれはちょっと強引ちゃうんかというところまで突っ込んでくる。相変わらずアグレッシブだなー。でも、そこまでいうんやったらやったろやんけと思ってしまう単純な自分。あぁーまた仕事引き受けちゃった。
• Rob Jarrowがモデルの意味について噛み砕いて説明するのを始めて聞いた。論文だと完全に数学の論文と同じスタイルをとっているからわからなかったけれど、やっぱり本人はかなりそのモデルの意味について心を砕いてるんだー。考えてみれば一流の数学者もみんなそうしてるもんね。In this context, there are lots of fun in derivative pricing!
